wanna ask? go for it.   i'm Kallie. Hi. Yes, that's pronounced like Cali, as in the state. Most pronounce it wrong, and that gets annoying when it happens all the time.
I like to speak my mind and voice my opinion, and sometimes, that gets me in trouble.
I am a Christian, and I do believe in God, but I will never "knock" someone because they don't believe what i do.
Most of this is all just rambles and thoughts straight from a not-so-stereotypical college kid.

sit back, relax, drink some coffee, and enjoy. :)

and do me a favor, you know that whip cream you wanted on your latte? Go for it. Today feels like a good day to splurge. You can diet some other day.

    a cup of coffee later

Let’s make something clear. I hate reading. That’s a total and complete lie. I’ve said this a thousand times though. For the most part, reading is relaxing. I like to really put myself in the story. Sookie Stackhouse books, for example. I like to think about the tv show, I like to play what I’m reading in my head. It’s a mental picture. I do this with most of my books. So, I don’t hate reading. What I do hate - is someone telling me to read and when to read it. Especially if it’s boring. I cannot tell you how many stories I “read” in high school. By that - I mean Cliff Notes. I could not stand to read those books! I can honestly say that I did not read most of the books I was assigned in high school. I can also say that going back and reading them now, is completely different. To Kill a Mocking Bird, cliff-noted in high school, loving the book today. It’s like two different worlds.

I recently got a Nook. I’m a total “Sample” junkie. I have at least 20 samples of books. I’ll read them eventually. I think I just like getting the samples. I won’t ever delete them though. That’s a no-no. But I’ll save them for a later day, when it’s raining, and i have an ample amount of chai tea. that’s the plan. Sounds good, right?

This is the last blog for my english class. It’s kind of sad in a way. i’m glad the semester is over. i will try to keep up the blog posts, though. if they are not on here, I might have ventured to video blogs on youtube. that’s where the money is these days. youtube. vlogging. posting a video everyday, doing tutorials, you know, just getting views and likes.. Thumbs Up!

    starts colliding…

I love my job. I’ve probably said that already on my little tumblr, but it’s true. As I said in the blog before, I got a promotion. I am now the full time Concierge. Hi, WK, you’re a great place to work! The people I work with are great, and the residents here are extremely nice. I always have a smile on my face. I know you’re probably going, “ok, kallie, stop sucking up.” Honestly, I’m being serious. I really do smile a lot here. :)

Anyways, I got my schedule figured out for Spring. I am still doing 18 hours and those 2 distance classes. Since I have 9 months to complete the 2 distance learning courses, i’ll get through them when I have time. I plan to sign up as soon as my fall classes end so that I can work on them while I’m on break before Spring sememster actually starts. That’ll get me a head start and ready to finish up quickly so I can graduate on time. I keep saying I’m ready to graduate. You know that graduating in the summer means just about nothing. I still have Graduate School after this. I also figured out that I might not be able to have my masters by the Spring 2013.  They only offer Graduate classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. How am I supposed to take 15 hours of night classes with that kind of schedule? It’s enough to make me cry. Seriously. I will still have a job here at WK, though. That’s the only upside to this. I’m putting off my own house, my marriage, and independence for grad school. I guess I could be excited that I won’t have too many bills… I’m not though. I’m pretty upset that my June 2013 wedding will have to wait until Winter 2013 or later. :(
Sometimes a great thing just makes people cry. Is a masters degree really worth it? Now, I just can’t decide.

    take me home tonight…

I got a new album on iTunes, and a remake of “Take Me Home Tonight” was on. If you’ve ever listened to this song, you know how HARD it is to get out of your head. It’s crazy. I’ve been singing it for 3 days.

I got promoted yesterday. Full Time Concierge. SO excited!

I also found out that to graduate by August, I have to take 18 hours in the spring along with 2 Distance Learning classes. That was enough to make me cry. I mean, full time job plus double full time student, I really don’t know what to do. I guess I could just put off graduation, but who really wants to do that? I’m ready to graduate, get my masters, and move to Dallas. Right now.

Other than that, I’m house-sitting for the grandparents, and I’m kidnapping their coffee machine and bed when I leave. :D

    p..p…p…promo…. break it down.

    hi!

recently - i got promoted. hi, full time job.

so… full time job, full time student, full time my life is BUSY.

-look at those capital letters. they have their place in sentences. i just choose not to use them in all my sentences. most of them. mostly all of them. ;) i just feel like it makes the sentence start off yelling… i don’t wanna yell. I want to start off peacefully and get to the yelling.

i’m getting advised for classes next week. next week. i get to graduate in the summer of 2012. that’s pretty darn exciting if you ask me. after i graduate, i want to get my mba. :) that’ll take just one year as long as i stay full time. bring it, school. let’s do this.

my main reason for posting a blog is that there is something i want to discuss. as you can tell, dear reader, i am avoiding this subject…

Stuttering. I have a stuttering problem. Yes, I do. It was obvious as a child when I couldn’t get a sentence out. It was awful in grade school when I had to read out of a book. I cried during speeches because I couldn’t say the words that started with M’s or B’s. Every day… “Hi Mom, I’m hhhhhome from school. Just thought i’d leave you a MMMMMMM……. a mmmmmmmmessage. kbye.” everyday. They say to think about your words, plan them. Now… If I left my mom the same message for a year - do you really think I never thought about that message? Yeah, not the case, doctors. Try again. Put this piece in your ear… Yeah, no.

Now, I’m at a full time concierge job. BBBBBBBBBingo. TTTTTTTTThis is Kallie. I’m a twenty year old who stutters. It only makes it worse when people look at me funny or think I’m incompetent. I make good grades. I got into college. I have a full time job. I developed fine, with the exception of my speech. I don’t make fun of others, and i expect the same respect. but in this world, people are cruel.

Don’t make fun of people who have speech impediments. Some can’t help it. and those who make fun, should be ashamed of themselves.

    Statistics.

I’m not so sure why all business majors must take 3 of these so called needed classes. I get that some classes are needed for every major, that’s perky and fun. Having 3 stats classes to graduate makes me want to grab a teddy bear and blanket, crawl into bed, cry, and never ever come out. It’s not enough that it’s insanely hard to understand; i get to have people say “you’ll never use that after you graduate.” thanks. That makes me feel so much better. I don’t get to just hate stats; I also get to “learn and dump” it. This is one of the many college kid tricks I hate. The information I learn, I sometimes, occasionally, mostly like to keep. Math for instance - 2+2 is my favorite. It equals 4 and I like to retain that. I like english - it teaches grammar and capital letters (i’m not a fan of those when it’s not proper writing). I like history - it’s interesting. science is fun when it’s experimental - mentos and diet coke, anyone? stats is not necessary. I’ve been through 1 class, and i’m in the 2nd. i’m dreading the 3rd, and i haven’t even put it on the schedule yet.

    dear stats,

please go far far away from me.

love, kallie. and her classmates who agree.

    think of me fondly…

    Steve Jobs.

A name that had meaning. A name that had hope. A name that is a legend. Remembered for Disney. Remembered for Pixar. Remembered for Apple. People know who Steve Jobs was and how he helped in technology and entertainment everywhere. I remember my first mac, first iPod, and first iPhone. The same way I remember learning who Steve Jobs was in 9th grade. He was a man who said great quotes. That was the first time I ever heard of Steve Jobs. A picture of an iMac and a quote. “Click. Boom. Amazing!” There have been many to work with technology, and there have been many to succeed. In the life I’ve lived, there have never been any to be as humble as Steve Jobs. I’m sure he had wonderfully nice things, but there was never a better outfit than a black turtleneck and jeans. If you can name 10 celebrities that have as much money as Steve Jobs who wear this outfit at conferences - I’ll bake you cookies. No Lie.

He may no longer be with us in human form, but I can guarantee - his picture will hang in apple stores everywhere, and he will be forever remembered in the lives of millions.

“And no, we don’t know where it will lead. We just know there’s something much bigger than any of us here.” - Steve Jobs.

"October 1, 2011 - TAMPA, FL - The Occupy Wall Street movement may have just received an unexpected surprise – United States Army and Marine troops are reportedly on their way to various protest locations to support the movement and to protect the protesters. Army serviceman Ward Reilly posted the following on Facebook: “I’m heading up there tonight in my dress blues. So far, 15 of my fellow marine buddies are meeting me there, also in Uniform. I want to send the following message to Wall St and Congress: I didn’t fight for Wall St. I fought for America."

I don’t even think thats the best line, here’s more of what the Marine said:

My true hope, though, is that we Veterans can act as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the Fucking Marine Corps first. Let’s see a cop mace a bunch of decorated war vets.

    somewhere over the rainbow

Hello inter-web world! If you’re a youtube watcher - you know that the recent trend is vlogging (video blogging). I think I’m interested. I’ll try it for a new year resolution. :)

Recently, I was watching the CTFxC Channel on YouTube. Alli and Charles are one of the happiest couples I’ve ever seen, and I’m glad that they vlog and let millions be apart of their life. Everyone wants to be apart of something, and the CTFxC group is no different.

I want to make an impact like they have made one day. I want to make someone’s life better. I want to be that person to make someone smile.

My dream is to one day work for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I want to help all of those kids in whatever way I am able. I know I won’t be a doctor doing research, but I will find a way to help. Currently, I am a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. ESA is a service organization for St. Jude, and every year we put on the St. Jude Dream Home Give-a-way. This is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. When I graduate, I want to help put on more events and marketing opportunities for St. Jude. :)

Dreams come true. What are you going to do to make yours happen?
